Masterson’s Tavern , situated in the center of Moonee Ponds , promotes itself as a chic “hipster” locale , but my most recent experience at this establishment resulted in an experience I’d rather forget . While the bar may seem appealing from the exterior , what I experienced behind its walls was disgraceful and unfit for any venue.

The ground was covered in grime , and a foul smell of old alcohol and uncleaned toilets polluted the entire venue . Emitting a scent of a mixture of ammonia , old age and a sickly smell. The main bar, which should be the centerpiece of any pub, was cluttered with dirty glasses and trash that looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in weeks . The restroom was in even a truly awful state— clogged , with a snapped lever and tiles smeared in what I can only assume was fecal matter .

For a business that offers beverages , these issues are entirely inappropriate and raise serious concerns about the integrity of anything they serve .

As I investigated further , I was horrified to find reports against him involving predatory behavior , with multiple women citing incidents of sending unsolicited explicit content .
